Onlive Goes Free For Life!

Boot up those crapy PC and dowload you some good old Onlive action. Effective immediately, the once subscription based service, has thrown out that idea for a more wallet friendly price. Free!

A spokesperson for Onlive has offered up this explanation for the major change in price. “We’re excited because this opens the door for the OnLive Game Service to be used by everyone whenever they feel like it, whether for playing a full game on OnLive, or for just instantly playing a demo before buying a game for a console or a PC. Or, even for people just wanting to spectate games in the Arena or friend other gamers. Whatever interests you in gaming, OnLive provides it instantly, without complexity or hassle.”

Onlive is a cloud based gaming service that renders users games on remote servers and send the video stream back to one's computer. A micro console is in the works and will be ready for the market fairly soon. Having used Onlive for several months now, I can attest to its potential, but without the user based behind it, it would seemed doomed to fail. Hopefully this free business helps.
