Thank goodness for those people with Android 2.2, and timed just before gingerbread's release, Google has figured out it's error in coding, and will be patching the infamous text messaging error soon. After 6 months of the issue being prevalent, Google set the issue to a "Critical" level issue a short four days ago, and thankfully came through with a solution quickly.
There is no set date for the release of this patch, but it is assumed to be an over-the-air fix, coming very soon across all iterations. If you weren't familiar with this issue, it is considered to be very rare. For those people plagued with the issue, thank Google for the patch in the coming weeks. No more embarrassing pictures going to the wrong people!
