LG releases the "Smart TV" officially at CES 2011.

The Smart TV by LG can unlock a world of new features for any individual who may have a TV that's just a bit too old to use apps internally.  Going up against systems like Apple TV, and Sony's SMP-N100, LG's device will enable you to use services available in most of their higher-end model TVs, such as Netflix, Vudu, Pandora, Youtube, and CinemaNow.  Additionally, features like Hulu Plus, Amazon VOD (Video On Demand), NHL GameCenter, NBA Game Live, and MBL.TV.

Not enough features to make you buy this handy little device?  LG decided to step it up a bit, just for you.  Smart TV is also going to feature a web browser, which can be controlled by any Android, or iOS device for typing, using the provided free app.  Not only are they providing you with a service that isn't really an industry standard in the small market, but they are going to provide some decent support for the device, giving you a physical keyboard, of sorts, rather than the typical on-screen keyboard, which always took forever to type on!  This is a DLNA-enabled device, to boot, so remember that you'll be able to stream in videos, pictures, and music from any local enabled PC on your network while the Smart TV is connected.  The device will be priced at under $100 USD, so if you're interested, there's really no reason to have to wait out getting your slightly older HDTV brought up to par with the best brands on the market.
